AN ONLINE PREDATOR POSING AS JUSTIN BIEBER ASKED CHILDREN TO SEND NUDES

Police are stressing the importance of parents monitoring their children’s online activities closely, warning that there are online predators posing as celebrities on social media in an attempt to lure children in.

According to College Candy, Detective Inspector Jon Rouse, who runs task force Argos, a specialist branch responsible for tracking online child exploitation in Queensland, Australia, reveals that “Identity assumption by child sex offenders is increasing quite steadily.”

BBC News reported that Detective Rouse had led a recent investigation in which a 42-year-old man posing as Justin Bieber on his social media accounts, persuaded children to send him nudes.  He was eventually caught and has been charged with over 900 child sex offenses.

“The fact that so many children across the world could believe that they were talking to Justin Bieber and that Justin Bieber would make them do the things that they did, is really quite concerning,” Rouse told BBC News. “I think a re-evaluation of the way we educate children about safe online behavior is really needed.”
Asking to conceal her identity, the mother of an eight year old girl told BBC News that a predator had messaged her two days after downloading a newly launched social media app.

“The first message was inviting you to enter a competition and to win it you get a five minute chat (with the celebrity),” she said. “And then the second message that came up was along the lines of ‘all you need to do is send me a photo of you naked or of your vagina.’ And then all these messages flew across the screen. Then the third message said ‘don’t worry about it. All the girls are sending me these photos. Just do it. It’ll be our secret’. And then the last message was ‘do it now,’” according to College Candy.

Rouse stressed the dangers of Musical.ly – a social media platform that was launched in 2014.

This app that allows people to upload 15 seconds of themselves singing, has attracted a significant number of child sex offenders to “groom children.”

It’s “a very well-known international fact, believe it or not,” he said.

Getting into just one IVY League school is a dream most high seniors have growing up; this one teen recently got accepted into all of them.
Ifeoma White-Thorpe, a senior and  president of her student government club at Morris Hills High School in Rockaway, expressed that she was taken aback and started shaking when she received the eighth acceptance letter.
“I was like, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, like this might be eight out of eight and I clicked it and it said ‘Congratulations’ and I was like oh my goodness!” White-Thorpe told CNN affiliate WABC-TV.
While most seniors have to worry about to wear to prom, this NJ native, on the otherhand, has to decide which out of the 8 schools, Harvard, Yale, Cornell, Columbia, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton, Dartmouth and Brown. she wants to attend in the fall.
While she’s not certain about that, what is certain is that she knows that all of the schools she applied to has  “great research facilities,” which is important for this future biology major who plans on pursuing a career in global health.
Getting into all 8 IVY League schools is no small feat, White-Thorpe is one of the very few students that’s been accepted into all 8 institutions within the past few years.
According to CNN, Augusta Uwamanzu-Nna and Kelly Hyles  were accepted into all 8 last year, Harold Ekeh in 2015 and Kwasi Enin  in 2014.
White-Thrope’s parents stated that they are letting their daughter make the decision on which of the 9 schools (including Stanford) she wants to enroll in.

A Brooklyn man was rushed to the hospital after being ferrociously beaten by four men whom he had offered to lend some cash on a meal they were short on.

After he overheard some customers refusing to hand them some cash at the Texas Chicken and Burgers restaurant  in Prospect Park South, Joseph Molohon, 37, approached them saying that he would pay for their food on March 1st.

Police cited that the suspects responded by allegedly attacking him, which was all caught on camera.

What started as a fight between him and two men, quickly escalated to a total of four men pounding on him,  when he tried to defend himself. The good Samaritan was pushed to the ground  after being striked with his cane and was kicked and punched all over his head and body .

The suspects fled; a fifth man entered the restaurant, grabbed the cash that was in the 37 year old’s pockets and ran.

The victim later told CBS that “The wallet was on my other side.I was laying on it and I had almost $1,000 in it. They didn’t get that.”

He was taken to the hospital after suffering from  the multiple fractured bones,  lacerations, and  contusions.

He told CBS that “he’s afraid to leave his home until his attackers are arrested, Molohon said: “I don’t know why they would do something [like that]. I’m a good person. I’m good to everyone.”

DIARY ENTRIES HELPED CONVICT A WOMAN FOR THE DEATH OF HER 8 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER

A grandmother was found guilty for the death of her 8 year old granddaughter with the help of a diary.

Persecutors had refer to the entries that Gizzell Ford, of Illinois, made in her diary  to prove that her father, Andre Ford, and her grandmother, Helen Ford,  had been physically abusing her up until her death in 2013.

Gizelle was denied food and water, was  tied to a bedpost for a week at a time and was severely punished when she was caught trying to take a sip from the toilet.

Judge Evelyn Clay said “there was exceeding overwhelming evidence” Gizzell’s grandmother, Helen Ford, “murdered her grandchild,” according to BET.

Ford’s first couple of entries  seemed okay at first, with one that wrote

“I hope that I don’t mess up today because I really want to be able to just sit down, watch T.V., talk and play with everybody. I am going to be great all day.

Love,

G.F.

I am going to be a beautiful smart and good young lady. I can do anything I put my … smart mind to. People say I’m smart and courageous and beautiful, the same source noted.

Authorities noticed a change in her writing that evoked that something was wrong.

In the next page, the Illinois native wrote “Not true, I failed,” after initially writing that she was going to be great all day.

In what had been her very last entry dated back to July 11, she wrote “I hate this life because now I’m in super big trouble,” she wrote while two of her cousins were at summer camp.

Two days later, she was horrifically beaten to  death by the hands of her grandmother.

Authorities broke down in tears as they looked at photos of Gizzell during the trial procedural at Cook County Court.

“I’m sorry, this never happens,” Officer Nancy DeCook said according to BET.

Prior to Gazelle’s death her mother, Sandra Mercado, had been trying to  gain back custody of her ,after Illinois Department of Children and Family Services had placed her in the home of Gazelle’s father.

Chicago Tribune reported that her father  passed away in jail as he was awaiting trial in 2014.

Mercado has now filed a lawsuit against the state expressing her anger over the death of her daughter, which she believe could’ve have been prevented had the DCFS caseworker who had visited the home that Gizelle resided in, had not ignored the obvious signs of abuse.
