How often do you meet a complete stranger willing to help fiance your way to Rio? Not often right? Well, for one Uber Driver he got the present of a lifetime when a stranger helped raise money to enable him to  see his son compete at this year’s Olympics.

Ellis Hill, an Uber driver in Pennsylvania, shared the news of his son’s accomplishments with Liz Willock, a passenger he was dropping off in Philadelphia.. Delighted by it all, she asked if he was going to see his son live in action.

Upon hearing that he couldn’t afford a plane ticket, Willock knew that she had to help. She asked him if he would go, if she found a way to get him a ticket. With her position as a “sales leader at a concierge service that arranges travel for people seeking clinical trials around the world, ” she knew she had the resources to make it all possible, noted by http://collegecandy.com/.

Before leaving the Uber car, she told him that she was going try her best to fulfill his wish of being united with his son Darrell Hill, whom he hasn’t seen in months (because of his son’s rigorous training schedule). They exchanged contact information, and the next day  Willock had launched a GoFundMe Campaign, to raise money to send him to Rio.

Hill was in disbelief to see how quickly the donations came pouring in, surpassing the initial $7,500 goal created, from people he’s never met before.

“I feel really grateful and overcome by the knowledge that there are good people out there,” Hill said according to http://collegecandy.com/.

Because of one small act, Hill will be able to cheer on his son in Rio  as he competes for the gold medal in the track and field category from August 15-19th . He will be traveling with a$250 certificate in his pockets given to him by Uber to cover food expenses, and $1,000 for the fare rides, as  stated by the same source.

Darrell Hill released a tweet stating how touched he was by everyone’s generosity in helping bring his dad to him, especially at such an important time in his life.

“Yo.. Somebody just donated $1,545 to my go fund me. I was almost moved to tears. God is so good. Would like to personally thank everyone who donated to help my Dad get to Rio, we achieved our goal. God is Good. ,” Darrell wrote on Twitter(@@B1GHomie).
