Growing up, jail was a place to fear, knowing that if you ever landed there, it was like you officially hit rock bottom. For one woman, that’s exactly what she wanted, so much that she robbed a bank just so she could seek shelter again in the jail that she called home for so long.
After being released out of jail this past June, 59 year old Linda Patricia Thompson of Cheyenne, Wyoming, was left homeless in the streets. No rooms were available for her at a local homeless shelter, and because of that she decided that she needed to go back to the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility . Earlier this week, Thompson had robbed a bank, slipping a note under the teller’s window, stating that she had a gun.
Once she was in possession of thousands of dollars, she went out and dispersed that money among random strangers on the sidewalk and also threw some in the air, according to FBI Special Agent Tony Smith..
The cops arrived seeing her sitting on the curb, patiently waiting for her.
They arrested her without any hassle. It was later discovered by the Oregonian, that Thompson was homeless prior to her first arrest ( for second-degree robbery in 2010) and because of that had trouble getting back on her own two feet.A normal life for her was in jail.
Last week( before she robbed the bank ) Thompson stated that she had gotten beat up by strangers at a local park. She had “suffered facial fractures,” according to http://www.lovebscott.com/.
How long do you guys think that her sentence will be for this crime?
